ARTHROSCOPIC TREATMENT OF SYNOVIAL OSTEOCHONDROMATOSIS

OF SHOULDER IN 22 YEARS OLD

Synovial osteochondromatosis of shoulder is a rare benign disorder which is characterised by formation loose cartilaginous bodies commonly intra articular and rarely extra articular. Arthroscopic removal of loose bodies along with excision of inflamed synovial tissue is the gold standard treatment. In This is a case of 22 years old male, preparing for police recruitment, having pain and difficulty in moving his left shoulder since 1 & half years. He was treated non operatively until he was advised MRI which revealed multiple loose bodies in Gleno-Humeral space, sub coracoid space. He was treated Arthroscopically by Dr Dineysh Dhytadak with removal of almost 20 loose bodies ranging from 1cm to 3 cm in size with concomitant synovectomy.
