Frozen Shoulder

When Your Shoulder Freezes, We Help You Move Again

Frozen shoulder is a condition that causes pain, stiffness, and limited movement in the shoulder joint. It often develops slowly, gets worse over time, and can last for months or even years if left untreated. The medical term for this condition is adhesive capsulitis, which means the tissues around the shoulder joint become thick and tight, restricting movement.

What Causes Frozen Shoulder?

Frozen shoulder can occur:

  • After an injury or surgery

  • Due to prolonged immobility (like after wearing a sling)

  • In people with diabetes or thyroid disorders

  • Sometimes, without any clear reason

It usually progresses in three stages:

  1. Freezing stage – Increasing pain and limited movement

  2. Frozen stage – Pain may reduce, but stiffness remains

  3. Thawing stage – Slow improvement in movement

Symptoms to Look For:
  • Dull or aching pain in the shoulder

  • Stiffness that makes everyday activities difficult

  • Trouble lifting your arm or reaching overhead

  • Pain at night or while sleeping on the affected side
