Ligament Injuries (ACL & PCL Tears)

When Movement Hurts, We Help You Bounce Back

Ligaments are strong bands of tissue that connect bones in your joints and keep them stable. In the knee, the ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) are two of the most important ligaments that help you walk, run, twist, and turn smoothly. Injuries to these ligaments are common, especially among athletes and people with active lifestyles.

What Causes ACL and PCL Tears?

These injuries often happen during:

  • Sudden stops or changes in direction

  • Jumping and landing awkwardly

  • Direct blows to the knee (like in contact sports or accidents)

ACL injuries are more common than PCL injuries, but both can lead to knee instability, pain, and swelling.

Signs You Might Have a Ligament Tear:
  • A popping sound at the time of injury

  • Pain and swelling within hours

  • Difficulty putting weight on the leg

  • Knee feels unstable or “gives out”

  • Limited movement and stiffness

How We Treat It:

At our clinic, Dr. Dineysh Dhytadak specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery for ACL and PCL tears. Using small incisions and a camera-guided procedure, the damaged ligament is reconstructed or repaired using a tissue graft. This approach ensures faster recovery, less pain, and minimal scarring.

In some mild cases, non-surgical treatment like physiotherapy and bracing may be recommended, especially for partial tears or less active patients.
